Linux Device Management Concepts and Tools (XK0-006)
This lab aligns to CompTIA Linux+ (XK0-006) exam objective 1.2: Summarize Linux device management concepts and tools.
By the end of this lab, you will be able to:
- Identify the functionality of Linux kernel modules and execute common module commands
- Identify Linux device management concepts and use commands to inspect system devices
- Describe initrd management and identify its role in the Linux boot process
Overview
Welcome to the Linux Device Management Concepts and Tools lab.
In this lab, you will explore how Linux detects, manages, and interacts with hardware devices. You will examine how the operating system represents devices, how the kernel communicates with hardware, and how system tools are used to inspect and manage device information. As you progress, you will work with commands that provide visibility into system components such as storage, CPU, and connected devices. By the end of the lab, you will be able to identify hardware components, interpret system output, and understand how Linux dynamically manages devices.
You will complete the following three activities in this lab:
Exercise 1 – Kernel Modules
Exercise 2 – Linux Device Management
