Welcome to the Manage Remote Desktop Services practice lab. In this module you will be provided with the instructions and devices needed to develop your hands-on skills.

Learning Outcomes

In this module, you will complete the following exercises:

  • Exercise 1 - Prepare System Prerequisites for Remote Desktop Services
  • Exercise 2 - Install Remote Desktop Services
  • Exercise 3 - Configure Remote Desktop Gateway Clients

After completing this lab, you will be able to:

  • Install Active Directory Certificate Services for RD Gateway host.
  • Configure guest virtual machines to connect to the lab domain.
  • Install Remote Desktop Services and selecting Session-based desktops.
  • Install Remote Desktop Gateway.
  • Request server certificate for RD Gateway.
  • Enable Remote Desktop Gateway service.
  • Configure Remote Desktop Gateway service certificate.
  • Configure Windows Firewall to allow File and Printer Sharing to ensure RD clients can copy RD Gateway server certificate.
  • Add Windows client to the lab domain to ensure successful connection to RDS.
  • Import RD Gateway certificate to the client computer.
  • Configure a new static IP address and connect to Remote Desktop Gateway.
  • Configure Remote Desktop services licensing.
