Authentication and Authorization Methods

Welcome to the Authentication and Authorization Methods Practice Lab. In this module, you will be provided with the instructions and devices needed to develop your hands-on skills.

Active Directory and group policy allow administrators flexibility and give them the ability to do their jobs more efficiently. In this module, you will look at the structure of the Active directory. Organizational units, different groups, folder redirection, home folders, creating shares, batch files and updating the group policy will also be discussed.

You will also learn about Mobile Device Management (MDM).

  • Exercise 3 – Security Groups Vs. Distribution Groups
  • Exercise 4 – Active Directory Logon Scripts

After completing this module, you should be able to: 

  • Set up a Security Group
  • Set GPO for the Security Group
  • Setup a Home Folder for Testuser
  • Test the Home Folder for Testuser
  • Create a Shared Folder
  • Create a Batch File
  • Create a GPO Object and Attach a Group Policy
  • Update the Group Policy
